In June 2013, Belgian NGOs, VECO and SOS FAIM, and FINRURAL from Bolivia organised a workshop on rural finance in three Andean countries, which brought together both the private (rural finance institutions and producer organisations) and public sectors. The aim was to share ideas about and experiences of rural finance and the role played by producer organisations and central and local government in the Andean region, in order to draw practical conclusions with which to build participants’ expertise and enable them to better position themselves in changing contexts and influence public policy.
