Today, the words “food crisis” are on everyone’s lips. Between soaring prices and food shortages, the fears it provokes are unfortunately justified.
This late awareness raises questions about the origins of the crisis, and especially about how the international community has dealt with the problem in recent years.
This situation does not surprise SOS Faim. We have long identified the factors that are responsible for the current situation and have denounced them unabatedly.
For a long time, with our limited means, we have been proposing and implementing solutions in support of small-scale farming.
Increased technical, land and financial resources as well as infrastructure are needed in order to increase production capacity and meet the food needs of local populations.
