FUCOPRI is a peasant organisation in the rice sector, with 27 079 members, of whom 891 are women.

Mission: to develop the rice producing sector for the benefit of its members through services provided to cooperatives of producers. These services are both economic (provision of inputs, marketing) and policy-related (defending the interests of rice growers).

Main activities: provision of inputs, marketing; technical support; advocacy in favour of local rice.

Results: strengthening the federation and its members; increasing rice production and sale; improving administrative and financial management.

FUCOPRI and SOS Faim: in partnership since 2007; SOS Faim helps to finance the organisation’s global action plan, with a particular focus on sound financial management and accounting.
